Mica gasket is a high-temperature, chemically-resistant sealing material made from high-grade phlogopite mica paper (an aluminosilicate of mineral origin) impregnated with a silicone binder. The phlogopite mineral gives the gasket its thermal characteristics and its outstanding resistance to solvents, acids and mineral oils, making it the preferred sealing material in automotive exhaust systems, gas turbines, heat exchangers and industrial burners. Kaxite supplies mica gasket as sheets (thickness 0.1–3.0 mm, width 1000 mm, length up to 2400 mm), as rolls (thickness 0.1–0.25 mm, width 500 or 1000 mm, length up to 300 m) and as custom strips or punched gaskets to drawing.
