Mica paper + resin adhesive + fiberglass backing — engineered for fire resistance
A mica tape (also called micanite tape or fire-resistant mica tape) is a flexible composite material made by bonding mica paper to a fiberglass or polyethylene substrate with epoxy or silicone resin. The mica paper provides the fire barrier, the resin ensures adhesion, and the fiberglass backing provides tensile strength. When wrapped around a copper conductor and covered with insulation, the mica tape allows the cable to maintain electrical circuit integrity for 90 minutes at 950°C during a fire — meeting the strict requirements of BS 6387 CWZ, IEC 60331 and GB/T 19216.
As an experienced mica tape manufacturer in China, Kaxite Sealing supplies fire-resistant mica tape in Phlogopite, Muscovite and synthetic mica variants with fiberglass backing. Contains neither halogens nor toxic gases. Highly flexible, easily deployed on high-speed cable wrapping machines. Related mica products: Mica Sheets, Mica Paper and Mica Tubes.

Our fire-resistant mica tapes are formulated to meet BS 6387 CWZ, IEC 60331, GB/T 19216 and IEC 60332 fire resistance standards for cables. Please send us your inquiry with the exact standard required and we will supply the test report if available.
Phlogopite mica tape is preferred for fire-resistant cables due to its superior high-temperature stability. Calcined Muscovite offers better dielectric strength and is used in medium-voltage cables. Synthetic mica provides the highest purity. Contact us for a recommendation based on your cable voltage class.
Yes. Our fiberglass-backed mica tapes are specifically engineered for high-speed wrapping machines — the fiberglass backing prevents tearing and cracking at high line speeds. Please send us your machine model and line speed for compatibility confirmation.
No. Our mica tapes are halogen-free — containing neither halogens nor toxic gases. This makes them compliant with the most stringent low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) fire safety regulations for mass transit, tunnels and high-rise buildings.
Yes. Every shipment includes Mill Test Certificate, dimensional inspection record and material composition report. RoHS and REACH documentation are available on request. See our Our Certificate page.
MOQ is 10 rolls for standard sizes. Lead time is 7-15 days after order confirmation. Payment terms are T/T or L/C. Free samples are available — you only cover the courier cost. Contact Us to discuss.
Send us your tape width (10-1000 mm), thickness and roll length — we slit to your exact specification. No extra tooling charge for standard materials.

Contact Us NowMica tape (also called micanite tape or mica insulation tape) is a roll of mica paper bonded to a backing material with epoxy or silicone resin, used as high-temperature electrical insulation. The mica paper may be natural phlogopite, calcined muscovite or synthetic mica, and the backing may be glass cloth, polyester, Kapton or PET. The tape form is used for wrapping coils, conductors and busbars; the thicker mica roll form is used for slot liners, barriers and form-wound coils in motors and generators. Kaxite supplies mica tape in 0.08–0.15 mm thickness with width from 4.5 mm to 1000 mm, and mica rolls in 0.2–0.8 mm thickness in 1000 mm standard width and 20–50 m length. Maximum continuous operating temperature is 800 °C (phlogopite), 900 °C (calcined muscovite) or 1000 °C (synthetic mica), with breakdown voltage above 10 kV/mm.
